Subject. This article discusses the effectiveness of customs authorities in ensuring the economic security of the Russian Federation.
Objectives. The article aims to develop a scientific methodology for assessing the effectiveness of customs authorities, providing information support for management decisions to counter foreign economic threats.
Methods. For the study, we used a systems analysis, methods of intelligent modeling, data analysis and visualization tools, as well as risk-oriented management customs concepts.
Results. The article analyzes the customs authorities activities , combining the precision of computer modeling, fuzzy logic flexibility, and transparency of explainable artificial intelligence.
Conclusions. The substantiated assessment methodology can allow identifying bottlenecks in the regulatory measures applied and formulating well-founded managerial decisions to minimize threats and strengthen economic security. The practical significance of the research lies in the mathematical support and modeling of the dynamic evaluation of the customs authorities performance.

Keywords: effectiveness, assessment methodology, customs authorities, economic security, fuzzy logic
