Subject. This article discusses the economic security of Russian pulp and paper industry enterprises. Objectives. The article aims to analyze and improve the methodological framework for diagnosing the economic security of pulp and paper industry enterprises, identify key industry risks, and develop an adapted system of indicators and a practical algorithm for its application. Methods. For the study, we used a systems approach, and the methods of comparative, financial, and retrospective analyses. We also used data from the financial statements of industry enterprises and expert assessment methods. Results. The article presents the author-developed tools including a set of interconnected indicators grouped by functional security component. It also is proposes a calculation algorithm for the integral index, providing a quantitative assessment of the economic security level. Conclusions. The implementation of advanced tools allows a shift from stating facts to forecasting potential threats to make timely and well-founded management decisions aimed at strengthening the enterprises resilience in conditions of instability.
