Subject. This article focuses on financial mechanisms, tools, and sources of funding for the Russian housing and communal services sector. Objectives. The article aims to enhance measures of State financial support for the Russian communal infrastructure modernization. Methods. For the study, I used the methods of analysis, synthesis, comparison, induction, deduction, and modeling. Results. The article proposes ways to implement the recommendations of the Accounts Chamber in the area of drinking water supply and water treatment. Conclusions. The study justifies the possibility of extending these recommendations to the related sector of wastewater management in Russia.
