Subject. This article focuses on the Russian State economic policy aimed at stimulating investment activity in the field of innovation. Objectives. The article aims to analyze State policy in the area of innovation funding and develop recommendations for regulating the imbalance of interregional development. Methods. For the study, we used methods of statistical analysis of innovative activity indicators and investments efficiency. Results. The article reveals the uneven distribution of financial support across subjects of the Russian Federation and proposes measures to reduce the regional imbalance. Conclusions. It is necessary to introduce stimulating mechanisms and tax incentives to improve the State innovation policy.
