Subject. This article focuses on the competitiveness and resilience of oil and gas producing enterprises in Russia in the face of modern challenges.
Objectives. The study aims to develop concepts for sustainable and adaptive management of oil and gas extraction enterprises in Russia under conditions of internal and external pressure.
Methods. For the study, we used methods of systems analysis, comparative analysis, and analysis of statistical data.
Results. The article identifies internal and external challenges in the oil and gas extraction industry of the Russian Federation. The study also developed concepts of sustainable and adaptive management to overcome negative factors in the industry.
Conclusions. The proposed concept includes structural changes in the management system, digitalization of production processes and other tools to solve the issues of the industry. Managers in the industry can use the results of this research to create practical administration tools in the conditions of internal and external pressure.
