Subject. This article focuses on the actions of the US President in the context of the country's withdrawal from the Paris Agreement. Objectives. The article aims to identify possible risks to the national security of the Russian Federation in light of the US withdrawal from the Paris Agreement, and develop preventive measures to suppress them. Methods. For the study, I used the methods of comparative analysis and generalization. Results. The US withdrawal from the Paris Agreement is encouraging the Russian Federation to develop its own industry. Conclusions. The policy of the current Executive Office of the President of the United States is based on a manufacturing model of economic development with an emphasis on the automotive industry, ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, domestic energy resources and non-ferrous minerals, as well as the export of liquefied natural gas. US participation in the Paris Agreement is contrary to the stated policy. The main risks to the national security of the Russian Federation lie in the possible introduction of new sanctions against the automotive industry, metallurgy, coal industry and oil and gas sector. It is necessary to review the strategic planning system, as well as tax and customs legislation. It is advisable to ensure proper fulfillment of obligations within the framework of OPEC+.
