Subject. The article analyses the essence, factors and main types of economic crime, as well as the causes, conditions and methods of anti-corruption efforts in Russia. Objectives. The article aims to diagnose the scale of corruption and trends in its development in the economic sphere. Also, it aims to develop proposals for improving anti-corruption measures. Methods. For the study, we used the dialectical approach and methods of economic analysis. Results. The article reads corruption as a threat to economic security, and reveals the negative impact of corruption on the socio-economic development of Russia. The study also analyses the imperfection of the current legislation designed to regulate economic legal relations. Conclusions. Corruption as a threat to economic security leads to crisis phenomena emergence, economic and moral losses, and a decrease in trust in the State. This study presents certain recommendations for combating corruption.
