Subject. This article discusses theoretical aspects of the concept of Economic Security of the Region. Objectives. The article aims to systematize various approaches of Russian scientists to the definition of the concept of Economic Security of the Region and assess its level. Methods. For the study, I used a bibliometric analysis. Results. The bibliometric analysis of publication activities shows that the number of publications on the problems of economic security of the region under the term Economic Security of the Region increased by 9.4 times for the period 2010–2023. The article reveals a close relationship between economic security and food, environmental security, as well as the sustainable development of the country and regions. A critical analysis of the main publications shows the lack of unity of approaches to the definition of the concept of Economic Security of the Region and the assessment of its level. Conclusions. The results of the study can be used to improve the methods for assessing the level of economic security on a regional and national scales.
