Subject. This article discusses the economic development priority areas of the Donetsk People's Republic as a new subject of the Russian Federation. Objectives. The article aims to develop recommendations and proposals for improving the management system for the development of the Donetsk People's Republic's industry. Methods. For the study, we used logical and structural analyses. Results. The article reads of the need to improve the management system for the development of the Donetsk People's Republic's industry and the creation of a specialized ministry for the development of new territories of the Russian Federation. Conclusions. The article confirms the hypothesis that the effective development of industry in the new regions of the Russian Federation can be ensured on the basis of the creation of a centralized State structure that implements a systematic approach to the coordination of the activities of economic entities.
