Subject. The article explores prospects for the use of artificial intelligence technologies in industrial sectors.
Objectives. The aim is to analyze problems of territorial development of industry in the context of the digital economy formation.
Methods. The study draws on methods of econometric, correlation-regression, comparative, and logical analysis.
Results. We considered specific aspects of the industrial policy implementation for 2010–2020. The paper demonstrates significant correlation between the level of digitalization of the economy and the growth of labor productivity.
Conclusions. Industrial development in Russian regions to a large extent depends on the introduction of digital technologies and artificial intelligence technologies.
