Subject. This article discusses the issues of economic and political discrimination.
Objectives. The article aims to analyze gender inequality in the countries of the world.
Methods. For the study, we used general scientific research methods.
Results. The article determines the loss of world GDP due to the unresolved problem of gender parity, as well as the human development index for women and men in Russia in the aspect of achieving gender equality.
Conclusions. Indicators of gender inequality are calculated with a significant delay. The problem of closing the significant wage gap between men and women has not yet been solved. A shift is needed to create jobs where the best results can only be achieved through the combined efforts of men and women.
