Subject. This article deals with the issues of optimal use of non-renewable natural resources and particularities of the development of gold mining enterprises in Russia. Objectives. The article aims to develop a methodology for quantifying the impact of key factors determining the sustainable development of gold mining enterprises. Methods. For the study, we used general scientific research methods. Results. The article presents an assessment of the importance of each particular factor of sustainable development of the gold industry. Conclusions. The cost of gold mining and production is the most important indicator reflecting the level of development of the gold industry in Russia.
