Subject. The article addresses development prospects for the Northern Sea Route.
Objectives. The aim is to analyze the role of the Northern Sea Route in the economic security of the Far Eastern Federal District, assess the main directions of development of the Northern Sea Route in terms of economic growth priorities of the Far East.
Methods. The study employs methods of comparative and statistical analysis.
Results. The paper explores the impact of the Northern Sea Route development on economic security of the Far Eastern Federal District. It reveals areas for further development of the region, bearing in mind the factor of the Northern Sea Route.
Conclusions. The development of the Northern Sea Route should be based on the interests and priorities of constituent entities of the Far Eastern Federal District.
