Subject. This article deals with the issues of ensuring food security of Russia.
Objectives. The article aims to study the problems of meat and meat products production in Russia.
Methods. For the study, we used statistical inquiry, comparison, and the graphical method.
Results. The article describes the challenges and features of the development of the meat-product sub-complex of Russia.
Conclusions. Sustainable development of the meat-product sub-complex of Russia and its efficiency enhancement are directly related to strengthening the raw material base, creating conditions for ensuring import substitution, ramping up export potential and grabbing new export markets, and improving infrastructure.
