Subject The study discusses the role of countering corruption practices within the national economic security mechanism and overall national security of the Russian Federation.
Objectives The study investigates and analyzes risks and threats in public procurement. We set up measures for countering the corruption in public procurement while ensuring the national economic security.
Methods The study involves such methods as analysis, synthesis and comparison, graphic method, examination of regulatory documents, scrutiny and summary of court practices.
Results We provided the rationale for countering the corrupting in modern Russia, highlighted key factors and aspects of the corruption risk and analyzed court cases under Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and Article 7.30 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation. Considering flaws and imperfections of the legislation, we offered a set of preventative measures against corruption practices in public procurement.
Conclusions and Relevance Corruption is a serious challenge for the Russian society. Public procurement appears to be the most corrupted sector of the Russian economy. Therefore, we provided the rationale for ensuring the economic security of the Russian Federation by averting the corruption risk in public procurement and outlined the main directions for updating the anti-corruption concept.
