Importance Global economy and policy are undergoing a complicated period, when the current system in various countries falters again and again. Common people need changes, thus transforming into a new type of voters, who become more difficult to manipulate. Therefore, it transforms the current system.
Objectives The research determines premises which made most specialists and experts get astonished with Donald Trump’s win of the U.S. Presidential Elections.
Methods The article involves general scientific methods of analysis, cross-disciplinary synthesis and principles of comparison and forecasting. I scrutinized principal publications on the U.S. Presidential Elections.
Results I found premises for the U.S. socio-economic turn and possible changes in geopolitics. The article demonstrates the U.S. economic model is based on a growing debt burden, disparity of population and biased attitude of the considerable part of scientific community. I found similar features with the BREXIT that took place in the UK. Probable changes are likely to happen in the U.S. foreign policy, which can alter the balance of power in global relationships.
Conclusions and Relevance As the analysis shows, Trump’s victory is not that unexpected. Average income of common Americans remains the same, putting a huge number of the U.S. citizens under tough pressure. Illegal immigration should also be mentioned in the context, while many Americans vote against aggressive foreign policy of the U.S. Administration. It resulted in counteraction and social disintegration, thereby leading to the outcome of the U.S. Presidential Elections. Similar scenarios came into life in the UK, being quite probable for other EU countries. The above aspects will alter the order and powers in global policy and economy.
