Importance As seen in social and labor aspects of the Russian society, changes increase the number of people involved into precarious employment arrangements. Transformation of employment schemes contributes to labor precarization. In this respect, it becomes necessary to identify indicators of labor precarization growth.
Objectives The research constitutes scholarly comprehension of precarious employment as one of the most crucial issues of the country. We also reviewed key characteristics of the social and labor sphere of the Russian society as labor precarization.
Methods We applied methods of comparative and theoretical analysis and analysis of official statistics.
Results We prove that the standard of living, employment and unemployment and their respective indices may warn about an increase in labor precarization.
Conclusions and Relevance Increase in labor precarization should be studied since it has substantial implications for economy and society as a whole. The growing precariat in Russia will be looking for ways out of their uncertainty, thus possibly escalating social tensions. In this respect, it is reasonable to scientifically contemplate the phenomenon as one of the most crucial challenges in the country. Key social and labor indicators may be used as evidence of labor precarization.

Keywords: socio-labor sphere, non-standard employment, precarious employment conditions, labor precarization
