Objectives The research analyzes the current state of innovative, information and Internet logistics in Russia and abroad, and elaborates strategic areas for its development in Russia and Mongolia.
Methods The article employs methods of logic and historical research, comparative analysis and synthesis through principles of strategic management and forecasting. The research identifies and systematizes strategic areas for developing the contemporary logistic infrastructure run by Russia and Mongolia jointly, benefits they and other countries may derive from the development of innovative, information and Internet logistics.
Results We analyzed development steps and current state of innovative, information and Internet logistics in Russia and abroad, respective opportunities at economic levels. We propose theoretical and methodological approaches by combining innovation and traditional approaches to the logistic system and its formation that complies with international e-markets.
Conclusions and Relevance We conclude that the railway line from Russia to ?r?mqi (People's Republic of China) through Mongolia and onwards to Pakistan and India will push the development of certain Russian areas, rearrange the existing traffic from Russia and increase export potential. However, Russia can act as a transit country since it lags behind in terms of its innovative, information and Internet logistic technologies, intermodal transportation techniques. It may host the center for rearranging transit traffic flows among the EU and the Pacific Rim.
