Subject The article discusses the issues of enhancing the innovative activities of domestic multicorporate enterprises, using the results of research and technical activities.
Objectives The purpose of the study is to evaluate the scientific and technological capacities of modern business entities and their impact on providing the innovative security.
Methods For the study, we used the general scientific methods of cognition such as the dialectic one, a combination of historical and logical unity, structural and functional analysis methods, traditional techniques of economic analysis and synthesis, and specific methods of evaluation of innovation safety indicators.
Results We show the proportion of organizations engaged in technological innovation and the dynamics of organizations engaged in research and development. We present the criteria and indicators of economic security in the innovation sphere. Having studied the trends in scientific and technological development of Russia's largest companies, we recommend certain requirements for establishing limit indicators of innovation.
Conclusions and Relevance We show that large industrial corporations are the most active participants of the Russian market of innovation; they invest in research and development, as well as generate funds for new technologies. We conclude that the development of the innovation orientation of domestic companies is the key support instrument for their innovative security, and it creates a basis for the potential of a number of other related positive effects. The results can be used to develop programs and strategies of innovative development of enterprises.
