Importance The paper deals with the issues of military and economic needs, food support, in particular.
Objectives The paper studies the structure of the military-economic needs and defines the food support position in it; as well, it considers the process of meeting the needs of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in food supply.
Methods For the study, we used methods of scientific analysis and a systems approach.
Conclusions The main source of meeting the needs of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in food provision is the agriculture of Russia. The high level of development of the agro-industrial complex, the availability of reserves and stocks guarantee the stability of food provision the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation need.
