Importance The article discusses the trends in the Russian stock market, starting from 2006 up till the present days. Objectives The research identifies the main trends in the Russian stock market, which stem from its structural and dynamic changes. Methods Changes in the Russian stock market indicators were examined with methods of a correlation and variance analysis. Results I reveal the specifics of the Russian stock market and assess the volatility and return of the market, statistical correlation between indicators of stock, resource, monetary, and currency markets. Conclusions and Relevance The research determines what underlies movements in the Russian stock market; identifies the necessary step for its further constructive development. National corporations should activate their issuing activities. Individual investors should be attracted as they are interested in profitable allocation and increment of their available funds.
