Importance The article examines the imperatives of higher professional training development during the transition to the model of new industrialization of the Russian economy.
Objectives The research devises a theoretical framework and formally describes a new socio-economic model of the domestic economy, which would rely upon non-energy factors of development in terms of the political, economic, evolutionary and institutional economic theory.
Methods The research draws upon the cognitive potential of the political and economic theory, and evolutionary and institutional economic theory proving that knowledge accumulated by employees, and innovation constitute the core of the new industrial model of development, with the industrial worker and his/her ability for creative performance being its key component.
Results Relying upon a theory of intellectual capital, methods of structural analysis, institutional analysis, systems analysis and instrumental projections, I prove that prevailing technologies, i.e. mainly high technologies, nano- and cognitive technologies, genetic engineering, knowledge engineering, future projection, synthesis and corporate construction, underlie the functional framework of the new industrialization model. The article specifies the priority imperatives of developing higher professional training during the transition to the model of new industrialization of the Russian economy.
Conclusions and Relevance I systematize principal conclusions on the research. The findings should subsequently become the basis for accelerated development of the national economy during its transition to the post-industrial phase, improvement of its internal and external efficiency. The practical results may be useful for public authorities when articulating a strategy for socio-economic development of the country.
