Importance Theoretical and practical issues of sustainable development of national enterprises draw more and more attention due to an idiosyncratic economic policy, falling trends in industrial production, financial instability of many enterprises. However, some enterprises constitute components of economic systems in certain regions and demonstrate sustainable development, thus laying the basis for sustainable development of the regions and the country as a whole. Objectives The research explores and determines approaches to forming the corporate sustainable development system as the key component of the single management system for sustainable development. To attain this objective, it is necessary to analyze various approaches to forming the corporate sustainable development system, examine possibilities of business modeling during business standardization, finding premises and prospects for using an architectural approach as the methodological framework of the corporate sustainable development system. Methods We applied general and special scientific methods, i.e. systems and structural analyses, comparison, graphical depiction of results. Results We propose our own conceptual model of activities to be carried out to set up a sustainable development system, devised a 3D Corporate Model and identified the main components of the sustainable development system. Conclusions and Relevance If the architectural approach is implemented through dynamic models of the entity, it may help put into practice such principles as responsible management, involvement, transparency and ethical compliance. The sustainable development goals that have no alternatives may be achieved if corporate architecture is developed as an accepted tool for knowledge and change management.
