Information flows in educational milieu as a basis for the use of pedagogical tools of modern learning technologies

Importance The article substantiates methodological approaches to and opportunities of using information flows in learning environments of higher educational institutions as pedagogical tools of modern learning technologies. The research mainly aims at examining the effect information technologies integrated in higher educational institutions have on the improvement of students' professional knowledge through the use of computer equipment and computing technologies in the educational process.
     Objectives
We try to illustrate some ways to resolve the principle issues of integrating IT into learning environments of higher educational institutions by selecting approaches to and methods for formalized knowledge representation, setting up algorithms for their use and building knowledge databases. In this respect, we suggest that higher educational institutions should create IT learning environment, which will enable them to model not only the learning process, but also various training methods and techniques.
     Methods
To formalize the structure of didactic contents within information flows of learning environments, we use adaptive (manageable) navigation models, with training scenarios determining the sequence of information flows. Scenario-based approaches are implemented through information knowledge databases per subject of a training program, and formalized representation of the student's knowledge and knowledge contained in the didactic contents of e-learning information flows as part of the modern learning technologies.
     Results
The article formalizes a simplified model of the student's knowledge and subject area knowledge model. Based on the models, we devise an adaptive navigation model to evaluate the student's knowledge, considering the logic of studying the didactic contents of knowledge represented in information flows of e-learning resources as part of the modern learning technologies.
     Conclusions and Relevance
If applied as pedagogical tools of the modern learning technologies, the above methods, models and implementation algorithms allow to improving students' knowledge substantially on the basis of information flows of the didactic contents of e-learning resources.
