Evaluation of the level of regional economic security of the Khabarovsk Krai and the dynam-ics of change of protection of its economy in the period of 1990-2025
Importance The global financial and economic crisis and political developments in recent months at the western borders of our country brought the problem of adjusting the long-term social and economic development of Russia and, in particular, the implementation of the Eurasian mission. The Far Eastern border regions of the Russian Feder-ation, Khabarovsk and Primorsky Krais, Amur and Sakhalin regions take a key position in this matter. The article deals with the assessment of the level of economic safety of the Khabarovsk Krai and its comparison with other border security levels of the Far Eastern regions of our country, as well as the regional levels of economic security of Western and Eastern Siberia, the average level of economic security of the Russian Federation. Objectives The aim of the work was a comparative assessment of the level of economic security of the Khabarovsk Krai to identify ways to improve the efficiency of its socio-economic development and the level of regional economic security. Methods Using statistical and econometric methods, the authors assessed the prospects of change in the level of economic security of the Khabarovsk Krai and other Far Eastern border regions of the Russian Federation. The arti-cle considers the basic indicators of the economic security of the Krai: gross regional product, gross grain harvest, volumes of investment in fixed capital, unemployment, internal current expenditure on research and development and other. Results The authors propose an approach to the comparative assessment of the level of economic security of the region, examine ways to ensure the economic security of the Khabarovsk Krai and other Far Eastern border regions of the Russian Federation today. This approach to assessing the levels of economic security of the Khabarovsk Krai and other Far Eastern border regions of the Russian Federation allows identifying the priorities of regional socio-economic development in present conditions. Conclusions and Relevance The authors conclude that the implementation of Russia's Eurasian mission remains the priority task of ensuring the regional economic security of the Khabarovsk Krai and other Far Eastern border regions of the Russian Federation.
