Importance The article examines the parameters of the national economic growth model. In the conditions when the Russian economy is facing the serious problems of ensuring its positive and qualitative macroeconomic dynamics, the issue of economic growth in the country has acquired special urgency.
Objectives The article aims to make an inventory of the existing Russian economic growth model with the emphasis on the quality and safety of growth, and an outline of directions to form a new, efficient model that meets the urgent problems of the innovative development of new industrialization and modernization of the Russian economy, to ensure the national economic security.
Methods The research is based on the method of comparative analysis, which allows comparing the actual and required levels, which characterize the different aspects of the national economic growth model (country and content-related differences of the models, the ratio of different indexes of quality and safety of growth and a number of other aspects). The analysis of the Russian economic growth model has demonstrated its deformed character, inefficiency and the lack of perspectiveness. This model is characterized by unstable dynamics of the national economy, poor quality and the lack of safe growth. In this context, we identify the existing threats to the Russian economy and a set of characteristics of its safe growth.
Results We point out that the fertility is the most important factor of the growth of population and labor resources. The real value of the specified parameter in Russia lags behind the safe level by almost a quarter. For our country, given its unique territorial factors and the situation, the demographic security is essential, and it is predetermined by the necessity of both the development of human potential capacity and economic arrangement and protection of the vast territory.
Conclusions and Relevance At the end of the study, we arrive at conclusion that, at the present time, the transition to a new model of economic growth in Russia is much-needed. The transition should be appropriate to the national development objectives and be able to counter the existing threats and challenges. This model requires a high quality growth and safe growth path.
