Importance The article offers the research results of the efficiency of investment in the Russian youth human capital. The relevance of this topic is highlighted by inefficient investments of money and other assets and resources in the human capital of the modern Russian youth by all the subjects of investment process, starting from an individual or family to the State. This is reflected in non-optimal ratio of funds invested in the basic elements of human capital (health, education, etc.) and the dismal results obtained. The generations of the contemporary young people are not sufficiently healthy and they lack the professional competence. This is evidenced by a number of socio-economic and demographic indicators.
Objectives I present the outcomes of the study of the real economic efficiency of investment in the human capital of the contemporary Russian youth.
Methods I carried out the statistical analysis of the data of the sample of the survey of the economically active population in the Volgograd region. This research intends to analyze the efficiency of investments in human capital of the contemporary Russian youth. I achieve that by virtue of estimating the ratio of the invested funds and resources volume provided by the main investors in the human capital of young people and the advantageous effect of these investments. The economic effect (an income of all subjects) and external economic or social effects are considered as the advantageous effects of such investments
Results I have obtained the valid outcomes of statistical data of income dependence on the educational level and other factors.
Conclusions and Relevance I substantiated the need for more detailed analysis of the efficiency of investment in the education of the contemporary Russian youth. The payback period of investment in the young people human capital for all subjects of such investment needs the qualitative evaluation. The comprehensive research highlighted the scientific novelty of this research, which has been carried out in our country for the first time, and only some aspects of the formation of the human capital of an individual, company, region and the country as a whole had been studied.
