Importance As of today, the search of trajectories of the domestic economy and society transformation across the board of the transition to a post-industrial stage of development is essential and significant.
Objective The article sets forth forcibly that the synchronous formation of "new productive forces", which are adequate to the relations of production in post-industrial society under formation, must become the main imperative of development of domestic economy.
Methods The conducted research allowed me to identify the essence and the nature of the productive forces and production relations in the post-industrial economy and to describe their evolution and interrelation. I consider the issues of carrying out of the stages of development and provide the distinctive characteristic of productive forces and production relations, which posit the criterion of a condition of a level of productive forces development and the branch structure of economy, which corresponds to it.
Results Taking into account the conceptual results of the political economic, evolutionary and institutional economic theories, I introduce and substantiate the notion that the new productive forces, which serve subsequently as the basis for the formation of the adequate to them production relations within the borders of a post-industrial stage of development. These relations must be formed in sectors of generation of knowledge, thus the special role is assigned to the educational sector. In the conclusion, I integrate the main findings of the conducted research which essence is that the further development of the domestic economy should be based on the intensive type of expanded reproduction of non-primary goods and services. I emphasize that the "new productive forces" serve as the basis of transformation and these forces are based on the use of sources of the human potential, as well as the increasing return of sectors of knowledge generation, as well as other components of the productive forces progress, which are directed at the formation and an increment of the creative potentialities of the human being. I identify the "constraining forces" in the domestic sector of education, which hamper the realization of problems of post-industrial transformations.
Conclusions and Relevance The main theoretical results of the research can be used for development of the political economic theory, the theory of social and economic transformations and the theory of intellectual capital. The practical results can be useful to the employees of the public authorities when developing strategy of social and economic development of the country.
