Features of management of ecological and economic systems of suburban areas

The article substantiates the rationale for singling out the suburban economy and ecology as a separate direction of the regional science, as well as it determines the peculiarities of the management and regulation of the ecological and economic systems of the suburban areas. This is due to the fact that the types and kinds of the suburban areas are not sufficiently studied. It is true to a much lesser extent than the case of the influence of city on the impact of the socio-economic system of suburban areas, which is analyzed as the "reverse" influence of the economy of the suburbs (especially of the rural ones) at the economy. The peculiarities of the suburban economy in the conditions of formation of market infrastructure have been studied to the lesser degree. Thus, the paper distinguishes a very wide range of the problems: the industrial, social, demographic and environmental ones, which are specific to the suburban areas and which are studied in a totally inadequate manner. This kind of problems, which are caused by socio-economic and environmental characteristics of the suburban areas, as well as the lack of their research, it is advisable, as the author opines to distinguish the so-called suburban economy as a special direction of the general theory of the regional economy (in the same manner as there is the urban economy as a special direction of regional science). This development will contribute to an intensification of the scientific research in the field of the study of the socio-economic and environmental problems of suburban areas. The author emphasizes the importance of the study of the theoretical and practical aspects of the suburban areas management. Thus, taking into account the close link between the socio-economic and ecological systems of the city and suburban district, it is appropriate to give this area the official, the special status of suburban area, with the consequent changes in the system of taxation, the financial-credit sector and other segments of the economy. The development of the socioeconomic model of the suburban area will help to achieve this objective.
