The cost of household labor in the regional economy

Throughout the existence of a multi-faceted society and human activities are constantly being daily in the household. Households play a crucial role in the functioning of the region. At the present stage, the role of human capital in the economic development of the country increases. It is reflected in the growth of labor costs. In the article the influence of the institutional change on attract of labor input of households to the production of goods and services in the region is investigated. Living standards and further development of the region are determined by these factors. In the present work, the author assesses the dynamics of the total hours worked and labour productivity regarding progress in the Republic of Mordovia. The structure of labor input in the regional economy is examined by using statistical methods. The structure has been analyzed in space and time. It is concluded that the changes in the distribution of labor input in the region's economy have the negative effects for households. It is a threat to economic and social security of the region. Results of the study are interesting in the context of identifying the nature and specifics of the process of institutionalization of regional households, as well as may be applied to the development of regional socially oriented policies.
