The paper considers the stages of positioning of business and it defines objectives and identifies the peculiarities of charity. The author presents genesis of its development and shows the distinctive features of charity and social investment. The article provides a comparative estimation of types and direction of charity in Russia and abroad. The paper reveals the problems encountered in the development of charitable activities that enabled the author to identify the key determinants of its development.
