Investment in research as the main factor for food security: the U.S. experience

The article discusses the issues of food security regarding the U.S. experience. The U.S. agriculture demonstrated high growth in the second half of XX century. The experience of the country may be useful. The author proves that the main factor of productive growth in the U.S. agriculture was the introduction of new technologies using the methods of mathematical analysis. The paper presents the U.S. effective system of public and private funding of research in agriculture which allows the U.S. agricultural sector to achieve high productivity.
