In the article a system interpretation of results of functioning of a metallurgical complex of Russia in the last decades is given, internal and external restrictions of growth of metallurgy are considered, changes in structure of demand for domestic steel products are summarized. Authors analyze specifics of integration in corporate sector of metallurgy, a role of the main driving forces of processes of merges and absorption; consider possible investment priorities of metallurgy in the long term.
