Development of unconventional oil resources of the world: challenges for Russia

In the article the state of development of the world's resources of unconventional oil is discussed. The factors of production growth and forecast production of unconventional oil in various countries are analysed. It is noted that the current high tax burden on the Russian oil sector does not allow cost-effective to develop most of the resources of unconventional hydrocarbons without further state support measures. Identified risks for Russia, associated with increased production of unconventional oil in the world.
