One of the most serious threats to the economic security of the North Caucasus Federal District (North Caucasus Federal District) is the social and socio-political instability. This explains the unfavorable investment climate in the region and inhibition of socio-economic development of almost all republics in its composition. In the article the factors worsening the socio-political situation in the North Caucasus, the directions of their stabilization are analyzed.
