Food security and food sovereignty of Russia is impossible without the technical and technological modernization of agriculture, the transition to innovative development. The article discusses the factors and difficulties affecting the innovative development of agriculture. It is concluded that for the development of innovation in agriculture is necessary to develop innovation and development related to the improvement of material and technical base of production.
