The development of insurance in the Russian regions is influenced by the objective tendencies of socio-economic development and long-term objectives identified by state authorities of the regions. In the article the results of research of interrelation of the regional insurance market (the Sverdlovsk region) with current situation and strategic indicators (reference points) in the economics and the social sphere of the region are presented.
