In article the concept of military economy from the standard positions of the modern economic theory is given. Advantage of this treatment before the developed paradigm of military economy of socialism is shown. Basic elements of program and target methods of management by defense industry and possibilities of their closer coordination with market mechanisms of management of national economy as a whole are considered. The new paradigm of military economy will allow to avoid in the conditions of the forthcoming growth of defense expenditure negative influence of factors on rates of economic growth in the country.
