In connection with the crisis in the global economy the problem of development of institutions of economic security has recently become even more relevant. Russian Interior Ministry is one of the basic institutions of governance of the country, the physical basis of the forces and means of ensuring economic security and law enforcement. In the article the role and place of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the general system of ensuring economic safety of the country are specified, the key directions of intellectualization of their law-enforcement activity as one of the main conditions of economic safety of Russia are justified.
