Methodological basis for determining the state of depressed regions

In article the original technique of definition of a condition of depressed regions of the Russian Federation is presented. The three classifications of regions on the following grounds are described - the investment activity, indicators of living standards, the economic potential. It allowed the author to allocate seven types of subjects with homogeneous or approximate values of indicators, and also to give the characteristic of an economic situation in the Karachaevo-Circassian Republic
