The fall of the volumes of transportation cargo, increase of tariff negatively affect on development of the most transport complex and the economy of Russia as a whole are shown in the article. Estimation of the economic state of the cargo motor transport working in Russia is revealed. The row of serious defect and negative trend, which removal requires the significant volumes of the capital investments, improvements normative-legislative base, recovery of the financial condition enterprise and reinforcements of state support are shown.
