The article examines the conceptual peculiarities of modernization of the social-economic environment of the North-Caucasian federal district on the basis of identification of the factors, conditions and instruments of modernization of economic complex of the macro region, as well as institutional reform of the economic structure of the North Caucasus republics, incoming to NCFD.
