Forest fires in 2010 caused enormous ecological and economic damage to virtually all regions of the Russian Federation. Estimates of the damage in monetary terms, provided in the press, made no sound methodological tools and quantitative characteristics are not comparable between regions. In this paper we attempt to develop tools for the cumulative damage calculation, consisting of assessment of market and nonmarket utility woods, as well as related economic damage. Proposed a list of these utilities and methods of calculating monetary estimates of damage from forest fires.
