The article is devoted to the analysis of political-legal problems on an area of the Tuva Republic-Mongolia Russian state frontier on the basis of generalization of results of sociological poll of the population of frontier areas of Tuva and citizens of Mongolia. Features of perception of the status of border by the Tuvinian and Mongolian respondents, their attitude to the system of passage of the frontier-customs control, and also the questions of transboundary criminality are revealed. The conclusion relating to the protection of interests of the Russian citizens should remain a priority mission for the Russian law-enforcement security services under the conditions of extending interstate connections is drawn.
