Realization of state and public interests through evolvement of taxation authorities in Russia

Taxation system is one of the key systems of the state. It is vital for the existence and functioning of the state. In the present article the author has analyzed the evolvement of taxation authorities in Russia, their role and service for state and public interests. The author has determined and analyzed the following five stages of evolvement of the taxation authorities in Russia: the early stage (the end of IX - XV centuries), taxation management in the period from XVI till the beginning of XIX century, prerevolutionary period (the second half of XIX century - 1917), the soviet period (1917 - 1990), the present period (starting 1991).
