The author has examined the main characteristics of the investments of the sovereign wealth funds, including their historical background, structure, investments, managing structure, etc. Also the author has determined the place and role of several funds among the other sovereign wealth funds of the world. The author has presented the statistics and made the analysis of the main indicators of the funds. In order to conclude, the author makes conclusion about the character of the development of the sovereign wealth funds.
