The article analyzes the influence of international and internal terrorism on forming the system of threats to the national and economic security and the ways of countering financial basis of terrorism and neutralizing its influence on the national economy.
     The existence of illegal and shadow economy (corruption, extortion practices, so called business protection) is viewed as a fertile ground for the presently emerging “economy of terror”, which serves as a financial and economic basis for terrorist organizations.
