On the basis of synthesis of modern concepts of regional economy the essence and specificity of inter-regional interactions are revealed, necessity of their strategic institutionalization is proved. Are defined logic and stages of Post-Soviet evolution of institutional forms of inter-regional cooperation. Perspective directions of integration of economic space of the South of Russia are offered.
