Information and communication technologies in the company’s management and in governments of any country in the world became an objective reality for today’s world. The availability of data collection, information organization and information analysis with the help of ICT today has no alternatives. On the other hand such an information gathering in one and the same place makes it vulnerable to intruders (cybercriminals). Due to the information leakage a company could face serious financial expenses and even a business interruption. But the information leakage in a state institution could create a threat to the whole country’s safety. Recent events and the notorious Wikileaks disclosure which involves information, economic and even military security of many world powers made the analysts once again discuss the term “media war”, and revaluate the information security issues both within the company and the country as a whole.

Keywords: media war, information security, threats to information security, company’s information security, cybercrime
