The article presents the method of region socioeconomic differentiation smoothing which consist of several stages: regions classification, development modeling and short-term forecasting on the example of Volga Federal District. Proposed technique can be used by state governments in programs implementation of socioeconomic region development. In the process were used methods of statistic, economic analysis, Statistica programme. In conclusion, were proposed measures to reduce a region socioeconomic differentiation of Volga Federal District regions.
